West London’s Slip 'n' Slide was one of the UK’s original house imprints. Starting in 1994 with early releases from artists such as Blaze, X-Press 2, Masters At Work and Kings Of Tomorrow, they set the benchmark for house music in the UK. Kevin Hedge and Josh Milan (aka Blaze) were one of Slip ‘n’ Slide’s most prolific acts, with ‘My Beat’ written and produced by the pair. The record sees Hedge don his Palmer Brown alter ego for vocal duties which, teamed with an up-tempo jazz beat, create this irresistible classic. Now Slip ‘n’ Slide return to release this 12” package, offering a chance to own this seminal track on wax, along with remixes from across the spectrum of contemporary dance music. Newly produced highlights include Folamour’s blissed-out interpretation and the more left-wing Javontte Jazzbug Mix. As well as the stellar original, the release also features Derrick Carter’s Disco Circus Mix, David Harness’ remix, the Solid Groove remix and dub and the Accapella.
