Famously, multi-instrumentalist Son Dexter was "spotted" by Larry Heard, who helped produce two 12" singles for him at the turn of the millennium. Since then, his output has been sporadic to say the least. As this surprise 12" on Downbeat Special Edition proves, he's lost none of his skills. Each of the four tracks - think laidback deep house/disco fusion - is built around live instrumentation played and recorded by the producer himself, ensuring a sensual, soulful and wonderfully organic feel throughout. Vocalist Eric Anderson lends a hand on opener "I Believe", while standout "Eternity of Love", featuring his own early '80s style rap, is a Dam Funk style electrofunk delight.
