ZSOU is the work of Mo Morris and Merrick Adams, previously of much acclaimed outfit ‘A Mountain of One”. They have been hotly tipped as “Ones to watch in 2014” particularly in japan after their first single “Written in Dust / Wild Honey” was widely acclaimed.
ISLAND OF THE GODS is a label based in Bali and its surrounding islands. The label is the creative outlet of Dan Mitchell, the original co founder of LN-CC and LN-CC RECORDINGS.
Dan Mitchell left LN-CC in early 2014. He set sail from English shores and headed South East to the indigenous islands and lands of Indonesia, recording what he calls “The last of the old world musicians.” Recording Gamelan, Gong and vocal sessions both in Bali and the jungles of Java”. It was in the jungles of north Java that he met ZSOU whilst recording vocals from spiritual Javanese Sinden singer "Endah Laras"” for the Admiral Byrd single.
The imprint will officially launch on June 9th, 2014 with the wild, hypnotic, voodoo rhythms of “Admiral Byrd” ZSOU’s first single of 2014.
