A music producer/composer from East London. At the age of 25, he has produced and remixed for Jordan Rakei, one of Australia's leading neo-soul artists, and Tom Misch, an up-and-comer from his hometown who is expected to break through this year. He has been composing music since he was 15 years old, and this album, which was produced two years after his debut EP, has the quality of a 10-year veteran. He has been writing music since he was 15 years old, and this album is the result of his ten years of experience. While feeling the grime and hip-hop of his hometown, his unique sensitivity to film music is sublimated into a song with a strong narrative, and it is as sweet and thrilling as if it were a neo-soul version of Mingus' work. With keys by Alfa himself, bass, drums, guitar, strings, horn section, voice by Jordan Rakei, singing by Kaya Thomas-Dyke, who did the impressive artwork for this album, and narration/raps by Alfa himself, the band is small in size. The band is small, but the production is dense with go-jazz. The album can be listened to without thinking about it, with the current trend of jazzy soul, but the modern and organic Afro/Latin flavors sprinkled in like a top chef will immediately pique the musical curiosity of the listener. Thundercat in the US, Hiatus Kaiyote in Australia, and him in the UK. And he's in the UK. He will surely be a driving force in the future black music scene, and the eye of the typhoon in UK jazz, foreshadowing the next trend.
