PPU shine the light on Leroy Ace Miller, a funk musician hailing from Macon, Georgia, which is where Otis Redding, Little Richard and James Brown all cut their teeth. The label notes Miller got his breakthrough in 1985 with Teacher, released on the indie California label Marina Sound overseen by Ron Patton. The pair would later work together with Ace Miller delivering two dusty lo fi funk cuts for the Baywest label set up by Patton in 1986. Original copies of "Hook Me/Sneak Previews" are fetching upwards of several hundred pounds on the collectors market so a round of applause to PPU for facilitating this official reissue. Miller is now apparently an attorney in Macon, but still dedicates his spare time to recording in his home studio!
