Given her growing status as the first lady of off-kilter Canadian deep house, it was probably inevitable that Jayda G would appear on 1080p at some point. Happily, Sixth Spirit of the Bay is every bit as vibrant and colourful as you'd expect. There's an alluring positivity to the jammed-out piano riffs, undulating synth bass and Sotofett/Fett Burger style hand percussion on "Fathom Five", while the jaunty "Cascabel" is a tropical deep house treat. On the flip, she goes a little jazzier on the partly vocal, left-of-centre sweetness of "Heaven Could Be Lately", before diving deep into warm, crystal clear waters on the slightly more new age influenced 4/4 bliss of "Listen Closely".
