Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter's Weekends & Beginnings compilation, a one-take live mix released last November, perfectly captured the energy-packed, floor-filling eccentricities of the Mister Saturday Night parties with which they made their name. Here, they present a flavour of that mix, dropping an excellent, DJ-friendly sampler featuring a trio of standout cuts. It's particularly good to see Maurice Fulton's twinkling, deep and loose remix of Alice Smith's "Love Endeavour" again, original 12" copies of which fetch ridiculous sums online these days. There's also some woozy downtempo genius from the ever-reliable Bass Clef, and a chunk of spooky, marimba-laden techno from Nebraska (the brilliant "Green Marimba").
