Pangaea's own label, Hadal, is always a source of quality electronic deviations of all shapes and sizes, and the producer's decision to retain a certain restraint on the volume of releases has been received well here at HQ. This time, however, he's thrown us off piste with these two edits of infamous, disco-friendly bombshells, and it makes for a lovely change to the more usual slew of gritty bass frameworks. 1991's "Devotion" by Nomad, a vintage house banger from the golden days of warehouse jollies, is pushed further into oblivion thanks to a hefty injection of breaks and percussion giving it a funky breakbeat flow. Loleatta Holloway's "Stand Up" is given the proper Pangaea treatment, with an artillery or two-step beats fitting into an already broken, proto-hip-hop classic. Be quick, these won't hang around for long!
